Bauhaus was a famous art and architecture school in Germany from
1919 to 1933. It had a profound influence upon subsequent
developments in art,architecture,graphic design, interior design and
industrial design. Bauhaus embraced the idea that mass-production
was reconcilable with the individual artistic spirit. Under political
pressure the Bauhaus was closed on the orders of the Nazi regime.
Bauhaus translated was build house, or architecture house. Caddhaus
translated means computer aided design/drafting house, in the spirit of
Bauhaus.
BACKGROUND:
Caddhaus is the vehicle for design/drafting projects
under the control of owner Bill Geier. Networking with
other CAD groups, creates a pool of Design Drafters
available for large projects. Having worked in the
Engineering field for over 25 years, and as a professional
Drawing Checker, Bill ensures control over the progress
of the project and final results. (see'Contact Us'references)
Engineering experience extends back to the interior
design of portions of the vehicle that landed on the
moon (Lunar Module). Further experience in interior
aircraft design included the deployment mechanism for a
hidden above-ceiling TV monitor in the King of Saudi
Arabia's executive 747. These designs employed
aluminum sheet metal parts, machined parts and
mechanisms,composites and stainless steel galley
fixtures.
Research & Development of a down-hole uranium mining
mechanism, led to further work on mining, tunnel boring
equipment and heavy machinery. Experience includes
design/drafting of marine heavy weldments & checking of
same. Responsibilities included the complete drawing
package of fabrication drawings for a Gantry Crane with a
132 foot span. Recent work involved the structural
design and complete fabrication drawing package for a
steel/concrete winding stair with four landings(see
below).
Additional experience relates to Architectural plot, plan,
elevation & detail drawings (etc.) for residential &
commercial buildings. This recently included a restaurant
with seating for 325 patrons as well as a 17,000 square
foot commercial shopping plaza (see Columbia Plaza
below)
Layouts and drawings are produced primarily in AutoCAD
2-D, with some performed using Solidworks 3-D modeling.
Hand drawn isometric sketches quickly bring the design
conception into perspective. Finally a checking process
completes the project.
